On May 13th, 2021 around 4pm the Sag Harbor Fire Department responded to a reported gas leak. Upon arrival it was discovered that a natural gas main was struck by a hydraulic drill and caught on fire. Members created a water curtain to protect the house which was only a short distance away and used another hose line to keep the power equipment hydraulic and gas tanks cool. They were unable to put the fire out until National Grid arrived on scene to stop the flow of gas from the street. The incident was wrapped up around 6pm.
